Eastern Waikato offers a Junior Competition which is played on a Saturday morning through the months of March to August - excluding school holidays, and involves 4 competitive rounds.  This competition is generally targeted for all players aged from 5 to 12 years of age. 


The Junior competition are graded on their age.

In 2019, Eastern began the Mother Earth Future Fern competition which we are excited as are the players with this development programme. We know our players have transitioned well with the change. Mel Nepe is the MEFF coordinator for our centre so if you have any questions please feel free to find Mel at the centre on Saturday. Just want to remind everyone that Mel and the Centre are finding our way through the MEFF and its all about participation, development and that the players get to touch the ball. We hope our MEFF players stay right through the grades to ensure our Centre's player development. Kia kaha taatou.


The Junior Competition consists of 4 grades A, B, C, D and the general rule of thumb is that all players are in their right teams based on their age e.g. 9 year olds must be within a team playing in the C grade or higher and any Year 7 or Year 8 players must be within a B graded team or higher. If you have players that are totally new to netball, then they start in the MEFF grade.
